Unmarked Graves

Information about Medfield deaths from 1652 to 1875 comes from a bound ledger in the office of Medfield’s Town Clerk.  This 133-page list was hand-copied by Jeremiah Ballou Hale in 1878 after the Town Hall burned in 1874.

This treasure-trove of records completes what has been missing for years: who is buried in UNMARKED GRAVES in Vine Lake Cemetery’s Old Section, especially in the earliest years of the Town’s history.

Click the tab ‘Search Records’ and enter your search name.  You’ll know immediately if that person was indeed buried in an UNMARKED GRAVE.
